SH 114 Clearzone Project
This project started in early April of 2006. This project consists of rock excavation on ten different sites on SH 114, just South East of Gunnison, CO. We are working with Colorado Department of Transportation, Region 3- Montrose Residency. This job originally consisted of blasting, scaling, excavation, and disposal of materials in the excavation areas. After long term planning and on site visits and inspections, we decided to use one of our most experienced project superintendents (Troy Adair) and eliminated the need to blast any of these rock cuts. SH 114 is a two lane road with severe rock formations encroaching on the roadway. All rock excavation was completed on June 2, 2006.
