Emergency Project Information: State HWY 78 was closed down just east of Beulah, CO, after flooding washed out the North St. Charles River Bridge on August 1, 2007. The North St. Charles River Bridge was built in 1961. Our crews have been working around the clock and managed to construct a temporary detour through the washout area on August 5, 2007. The Colorado Department of Transporation (CDOT) Engineers have been on-site on a daily basis reviewing the damage to the 32-foot long structure and determining what repairs of ocnstruction is required to construct a replacement bridge for the old North St. Charles Bridge.
