Beulah, CO - CDOT Emergency Job

Emergency Project Information: State HWY 78 was closed down just east of Beulah, CO, after flooding washed out the North St. Charles River Bridge on August 1, 2007. The North St. Charles River Bridge was built in 1961. Our crews have been working around the clock and managed to construct a temporary detour through the washout area on August 5, 2007. The Colorado Department of Transporation (CDOT) Engineers have been on-site on a daily basis reviewing the damage to the 32-foot long structure and determining what repairs of ocnstruction is required to construct a replacement bridge for the old North St. Charles Bridge. Brush Creek Enhancement Plan

Project Description: This work is to implement stream and associated riparian area improvements for a 1,330-foot stretch of the Brush Creek Corridor extending approx. 430-feet upstream and 800-feet downstream of existing Wood Run Road. This project started in early July of 2007 and was completed in early October of 2007.

This project is located just south of Crested Butte, CO, in Gunnison County. We have teamed up with Hidden Mine Ranch, LLC to construct a new access road for their new high-end subdivision development. This project started in early July of 2007 and was completed in Mid October of 2007.

Sand Creek Channel Stabilization

This project consists of constructing four major drop boulder structures with rip rap bank protection. The Sand Creek Channel Project is located in Colorado Springs, between Fountain Boulevard and South Acamedy Boulevard. Our crews have mobilized in June of 2007 and we are expecting to complete this project sometime in February of 2008. This project will consist of, but not limited to the following: Clear and Grubbing, On Site Cut and Fill, Boulder Placement, Rip Rap Placement, Grouting of Boulders and Rip Rap, Sheet Pile Installation, and Erosion Control.

PNR - HWY 12 Access Improvements

This project is located on HWY 12, eleven miles west of Trinidad in Las Animas County. This project will consist of the following: Box Culvert Extension, Road Widening to Include Turn Lanes, Removal & Replacement of Type 3 Guardrail, Hot Bituminous Asphalt Paving, Striping, and Seeding & Mulching. This Right of Way Access Improvement is for the new Pioneer Natural Resources Administration and Maintenance Facility. Construction was started in September of 2007 and all major construction has been completed to date.

River Jobs

Job Name: Pactolous Phase I

We have teamed up with Ecological Resource Consultants, Inc. for this river restoration project. The portion of this project will consist of demolishing of an existing building and minor river restoration work. Troy and his crew will mobilize on April 9th, 2007 and will spend a few weeks out if the field to complete this work. This is the first of many river restoration projects that we are teaming up with ERC for this summer. Phase II of this Project will be completed in the Fall of 2007.

Town of Aguilar Street Improvements

Owner: Town of Aguilar

Project Superintendent: Jody Lazor

Project Description: This project consists of the installation of approximately 1,875 LF of 15-Inch through 18-Inch RCP with inlets and manholes, removal of existing curb, gutter, and sidewalk and the construction of approximately 40,000 square feet of new sidewalk and 4,923 LF of new curb and gutter, milling of existing asphalt pavement and placement of approximately 2,200 tons of new asphalt pavement. Installation of irrigation, street trees and grates, colored concrete, decorative benches and litter receptacles, and decorative street lighting. This project started in April of 2007 and was completed at the end of July of 2007. See existing and completed photos below:

Spring Creek Channel Improvements

Owner: City of Colorado Springs

Project Superintendent: Troy Adair

This project consists of restoring an existing creek in Colorado Springs. It is located on Pikes Peak Avenue between North Academy Blvd and Chelton Road. This work will consist of two boulder drop structures and revegetation. This project started in early January of 2007 and was completed by the middle of April of 2007.

Spring Creek Channel Improvements

Cottonwood Creek Phase II, Colorado Springs, CO

This project consists of two new boulder drop structures and armoring the slopes with riprap. Phase I of Cottonwood Creek was completed in May of 2006 and our crews mobilized in early December of 2006 to start Phase II for the City of Colorado Springs. This project was completed in Late March of 2007.
