Monument Creek at Uintah St. Bank Stabilization

The purpose of the project is to stabilize an eroding area of Monument Creek near the Uintah Street Bridge. Lateral and vertical erosion threatens to expose a 42-inch sewer interceptor located near the creek. The work will stabilize the channel bank by installing a grouted boulder wall along the eroded bank in order to reduce the risk of additional erosion near the interceptor. Grouted boulder check structures will also be installed along the project reach to prevent additional vertical degradation of Monument Creek. Additional stabilization measures include placement of riprap and installation of erosion control blanket with seeding. The project begins approximately 25 feet downstream of the Uintah Street Bridge and extends approximately 775 feet upstream. The new grouted boulder wall will tie into an existing culvert wingwall on the north side of the bridge.
